Create a new document (File>New) in Adobe Photoshop with the size 800px by 1024px (RGB color mode) at a resolution of 300 pixels/inch. Using the Rectangle Tool (U), let’s represent a big rectangle reserved for background we want to have.
For this layer click on Add a layer style icon from bottom part of the Layers panel and select Gradient Overlay:
Click in the color bar to open the Gradient Editor and set the color stops as shown. Click OK to close the Gradient Editor dialog box.
This is the picture we should get. It should represent underwater scene.
Create a new layer and fill it using Paint Bucket Tool (G) with #003366 color.
Apply the next filter on this layer: Filter>Render>Clouds.
Change the Blending Mode for this layer to Color Dodge.
We’ve got the next result:
Insert the mask on the layer by choosing Add layer mask on the bottom part of the Layers panel .
Click on the mask and select Gradient Tool (G), open Gradient Editor from Options bar to select Black, White gradient. Apply gradient on the mask from bottom to top part of the layer.
We’ve got the next effect:
Find a stock photo with underwater scenery, as next picture shows it:
Using the Eraser Tool (E), we may erase all the unnecessary elements, except the water’s surface.
Insert it on a new layer in our main document.
Select after that the Soft Round brush from Brush Tool (B) with the color #669999 and set Opacity to 10% in Options bar.
Use this brush to paint the next whirlwind in a new layer.
Create a new layer and apply on it the Pencil Tool (B) for drawing several lines as shown. The color is still the same.
Apply the next filter on this layer: Filter>Blur>Motion blur
We should get such a waterspout.
Find several pictures containing the fruits. Remove the background using your favorite tools like Pen Tool (P), Magic Wand Tool (W), Magnetic Lasso (L) or even a simple Filter>Extract and insert it on a new layer in our main document.
After removing the backgrounds we have to insert the fruits on main document and place them in an arbitrary way.
Make several copies of some fruits and apply the next filter on the copied layer: Filter>Blur>Motion blur. The blurring directions should be set according to the fruit’s placement.
The top part of the blurred copy should be erased with the Eraser Tool (E) for showing the object’s motion.
Create one more layer now and select the Soft Round brush from Brush Tool (B) with the color #669999 and then try to draw the air bubbles on our picture, changing if necessary the Master Diameter.
It’s what we should get:
Add the FRESH text on the upper part of the picture by using Horizontal Type tool (T). Select a font, size and color in the Character panel.
Click in the image and type FRESH text. Press Enter to apply the text. Change the Blending Mode for this layer to Soft Light.
The picture is finished!
