Make an Illustration

Today we are going to do a really cool and easy to illustration tutorial in Photoshop.

Let’s begin with creating a new document and of course a new layer.

illustration

Using any marquee tool just make such selection.

illustration

The diagonal line can be not really straight.

Now grab a lasso tool and begin adding these waves. To add hold the shift key, to subtract hold the control key.

I’m doing it on a tablet so maybe for people who work with Mouse it will be a little bit harder to do.

illustration

I’m just adding these curves.

illustration

illustration

I usually save such selections. So save it.

illustration

illustration

Now create a new document leaving the selection on, and overlay the selection with ordinary color fill.

illustration

illustration

Apply some layers styles ass well.

We have standard drop shadow mode, a blue outer glow and gradient overlay.

illustration

illustration

Moreover I’ve just copied the layer 3x times and transformed each of the layers a little bit.

What
I’m doing right now I’m just doing a little bit of styling. For those
layers whish are closer to viewers eye I’m just changing a little bit
outer glow settings and color. I will make it a little bit lighter as
it gets closer to the eye.

illustration

Now I will apply Filters > Distort > Twirl filter to each of the layers, but only with different twirl angles.

Here we go, watch carefully.

And final production step.

Create a layer next to background and use a rounded gradient on it.

Fix it a little bit.

illustration

And we are done. A little bit color change.

My morning sunrise.
