How to Create a Brushed Metal Texture

1. Create a new document with dimensions 600×600 pixels at 72 dpi

2.Set the foreground color to #A7A6A6A6. Fill the canvas with this color.

3. Apply the noise filter. Filter > Noise > Add Noise. Settings: Amount 25%, Distribution should be uniform and monochromatic should be checked.

4. Apply the motion blur filter. Filter > Blur > Motion Blur. Settings: Angle 0 degree, Distance 50px

5. You’ll see some incosistencies around the edges, crop it by clicking Image > Canvas Size and entering 512px for both the width and height. You should have a tileable brushed metal texture as shown below.
