Create a Unique Glowing Text with Space Background in Adobe Photoshop CS5
Next we’ll draw a kind of beam, creating the new layer and selecting the Rectangular Marquee Tool (M) to represent a selection as shown.
Inside the selection we’ll paint with Soft Round brush of #84026E color.
We’ve got the next result:
Using the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command, we’ll change the line’s sizes and place it like it is shown next image.
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Vivid Light.
Create a new layer and apply here the Soft Round brush of white color to paint the beam as shown.
We’ve got the next result:
Hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and click between layers in the Layers panel to create a clipping mask.
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Vivid Light.
Combine in a group all the layers containing the beam and the brushes (press CTRL button to select the necessary layers and hold on the left mouse’s button while dragging the selected layers on Create a new group icon from bottom part of the Layers panel
Insert the mask on the made group by choosing Add layer mask on the bottom part of the Layers panel and choose the Soft Round brush of black color (set Opacity to 20% in Options bar).
Paint in the mask using this brush to hide the edges of the beam.
Make a copy of the got group. Press CTRL+SHIFT+U on the basic copy’s layer to Desaturate it. Hide additionally in the mask with a brush of black color (in the mask on the group’s copy). Using the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command, we can displace the copy the same way shown next image.
Now we have to make three copies of the very first created group and apply the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command to change the copies’ sizes, situating them the same way demonstrated next picture.
Create a new layer again and apply here the Soft Round brush indicated before of white color (brush’s Opacity – 30%) to represent luminescence effect on the painted zones.
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Overlay.
Create a new layer and apply the Soft Round brush to paint the background in blue on its left side and yellow on the right side. Both colors have the Opacity – 15%.
We’ve got the next result:
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Saturation.
Click Create new fill or adjustment layer from bottom part of the Layers panel and click to Curves to adjust the curve shape as shown to make a little color corrections.

Draw an ellipse the same way we did in the previous example, using the same Ellipse Tool (U).
Set Fill to 11% for this layer and change the Blending mode to Vivid Light.
Make a copy of the recently made layer with the small ellipse on it and choose the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command to make the copy smaller and place it as on the next picture it is demonstrated.
Insert the mask on the same layer and paint in the mask with Soft Round brush of black color (brush’s Opacity – 20%) to hide the ellipse between the letters P and A.
We’ve got the next result:
Next we’ll represent the pattern. Create a new document (Ctrl+N) with the size 1px by 2px (RGB color mode) at a resolution of 72 pixels/inch. Choose the Pencil Tool (B), set Size to 1px in Options bar to represent the pattern. Apply on the top side black color and grey on the bottom part.
Choose Edit > Define Pattern. Enter a name for the pattern in the Pattern Name dialog box.
Get back to the main document and represent a new layer (Create new layer) and choose Edit > Fill. In the Fill dialog box, for Use, choose Pattern, select recent created pattern from the pop-up panel, and click OK.
Set Fill to 60% for this layer and change the Blending mode to Soft Light.
