ColdFusion MX Overview – Pricing and Availability
Page 2 — Pricing and Availability
You might want to visit the Macromedia Free Products Evaluation page and grab a copy of the CFMX trial before we embark on this adventure, which by the way now includes a development Web server. After 30 days, the trial becomes a full-featured developer edition that only works with your IP address. When the time comes, those of you upgrading from ColdFusion 4.5 or higher can expect to pay US$549 for the basic edition. If you’re buying for the first time, you’re looking at $799 per server.
The basic, or “Professional” $799 edition of CFMX will run on Windows and Linux. The $5,000 version will also run on Solaris and HP-UX. For $4,000 per CPU, you can get the ColdFusion MX for J2EE Application Servers product, which will allow you to deploy your CFMX application on Macromedia JRun, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Sun ONE Application Server, or BEA WebLogic.
Try visiting the ColdFusion product page for pricing on all the different editions. Oh, and don’t worry about having to upgrade any hardware in order to upgrade to CFMX. Any hardware that ran ColdFusion 5 can run CFMX.
Lets get started! Boo-ya!
