Start working by creating a new file (File>New) of 1920x1200px/72dpi. Using the Paint Bucket Tool (G), give the new background layer black color. In the next steps we will try to represent an old paper:
Create a new layer where try applying the same tool, giving the new layer the color #F8D9AB
Make a click on the same layer on the bottom part of the layers’ panel on Add a Mask selection and select the Lasso Tool (L) to mark out firstly the bottom zone.
Press SHIFT button while using the same tool to mark out the zone from the picture’s top part:
The marked zone should be painted with black color, using as usually the Paint Bucket Tool (G)
Create a new layer and select for it a standard brush, Brush Tool (B), to paint the picture’s edges, using the color #D7A161 and the Opacity of 20%
Press Alt button and click between the brushes’ layers and the previous layer on the layers’ panel:
Download a set of ready to use brushes for Adobe Photoshop, named Swirls and BB_HighRes_Grunge_Textures. Create a new layer and use the brush out of the Swirls set and the color #958267. The brush should be turned over with Free Transform option.
Create another new layer under the layer containing the flowers’ brushes. Select a standard brush and try to paint very accurately the flowers.
Set the next parameters for the layer with the flowers’ paintings: Fill 22%
Press Alt button and click between the layers on the layers’ panel:
On the next new layer (Create new layer) we’ll chose a standard brush and paint the top part of the picture and its bottom part. The brush has the color #A88057 and Opacity of 20%
Press Alt button while clicking between the layers on the layers’ panel:
Create a new layer again and select here a standard brush mentioned above with white color and Opacity of 20% to make lighter the middle part of the picture:
