Ramon Crocodile Factory

Hallo. Today we are going to make and illustration, a very odd like. I’ve figured out that there are many farms in Australia that grow Crocodiles. Well, actually I did know that, but I really had now idea that one let’s say, 80 cm crocodile skin could cost about 1,500 $. They grow deadly predators out there, like cows or other domestic animals. And after reading and exploring Crocodile skin market in Australia I’ve decided to make an illustration on this topic. I actually like to watch discovery when I have some free time. But I watch it like an artist: I try to remember all the colors all the shapes of the animals, muscle structure, eyes structure and color gamma and so on. It is very interesting because if you have noticed in nature there millions of different species of animals, insects… Some of them look really odd, some, just strange. If you look a little bit further there, it can be a great material to use in your Concept art or illustrations.

So let’s do some shaping. Create a document and further a layer…

On my first layer I will tap several times with my brush, you will have it for download.

And here is my brush – it’s N 936. I really think that it looks like a crocodile head.

We will have only 2 value ranges: black and gray, so that is why I will paint my gray on a separate layer put to 60% opacity right from the start.

And here what we’ve got. Black stays on the Layer 1- and the grays stay on the layer 2. You can also see my brush shape here. I don’t use any pen pressure pen tilt setting.

Some correction with this brush (optional).

I’m adding a little bit of black to foreground. Stick to the layers. Because I’m using only black color here and gaining that gray by setting the overall layer opacity down to 60%.

Now I’m changing my brush, which is in my Antiscale set too.

Just one tap and I’m pasting some text. I would like to call my logo – Ramon Factory and now Farm.
