Set Fill to 50% for this layer and change the Blending mode to Vivid Light.
Apply the same method from the previous example and take the Pen Tool (P) to represent many rays. The rays’ settings are the same.
Also we have to insert several rays with the layer’s settings indicated below, using the same Pen Tool (P). The Fill is 50% for these layers and the Blending mode is Normal.
Click on Add a layer style icon from bottom part of the Layers panel and select Stroke.
We’ve got the next result:
Insert the mask on the layer by choosing Add layer mask on the bottom part of the Layers panel and choose the Soft Round brush of black color (set Opacity to 30% in Options bar).
Paint in the mask using this brush to hide the edges of the ray’s layer as shown.
Applying the same method described above, we may add several rays with Stroke style.
Now we must to add several rays of white color above the woman’s arm, using the same Pen Tool (P).

Insert the mask on the layer (Add a Mask) and hide the edges of the ray’s layer by painting in the mask with the Soft Round brush of black color (brush’s Opacity – 20%).

Make four copies of the last made layer and choose the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command to place the copies as it is demonstrated below:
Create a new layer and select the Soft Round brush of white color (brush Opacity – 20%) to represent the rays’ luminescence.

Click Create new fill or adjustment layer from bottom part of the Layers panel and select Hue/Saturation.
Drag the slider to the left to decrease the Hue, Saturation and Lightness of the color range.

Next we must create a custom brush. In this case create a new document (Ctrl+N) with the size 50px by 50px (RGB color mode) at a resolution of 72 pixels/inch. Remove the background layer and apply the Ellipse Tool (U) to draw the next ellipse. The color selected is #73859D.
Set Fill to 52% for this layer and click on Add a layer style icon from bottom part of the Layers panel to select Stroke.
We’ve got the next result:
Let’s rasterize the layer, but firstly select the ellipse layer in Layers panel, right-click and select Rasterize Layer.
Go to menu and select Edit > Define Brush Preset. Enter a name for the brush in the Brush Name dialog box.
We need to customize our brush in Brushes panel (F5), select the Brush Tip Shape. Click and drag any of the sliders to change the Size and brush Spacing as show. The Preview window displays the changed brushstroke.
Go to Shape Dynamics and apply the next settings:
Apply Scattering:
Create a new layer and use our created brush (brush’s Opacity – 70%) to draw many small circles as shown.
