How to Create a Beautiful Abstract Artwork using Light Effects in Photoshop CS5
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Color Dodge.
Insert the mask on the layer by choosing Add layer mask on the bottom part of the Layers panel and choose the Soft Round brush of black color (set Opacity to 15% in Options bar).
Paint in the mask using this brush to hide some zones on the model’s body as it is demonstrated below.
Create a new layer and choose the Soft Round brush of white color.
Use this brush to make the next contour around model as it is shown below:
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Linear Light.
Make a copy of the earlier made layer.
We’ve got the next result:
Set Fill to 70% for this layer and set the Blending mode to Color Dodge.
Make a copy of the recently made layer and set Fill to 60% for the copy’s layer.
Take now the Ellipse Tool (U) to represent several small ellipses of different colors.
Create now a new layer and select the Soft Round brush to represent the next glowing effect for ellipses.
In this case we’ll use the color of the corresponding ellipses. Place the layer under the ellipses’ layers.
Take the Ellipse Tool (U) and represent one smaller ellipse of #FFF9BB color.
Click on Add a layer style icon from bottom part of the Layers panel and select Outer Glow.
We’ve got the next result:
Make six copies of the last made layer and choose the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command to make smaller each copy, placing the as below:
Create now a new layer and apply the Soft Round brush to represent the glowing effect for the ellipses of #F7DD00 color (brush Opacity – 50%)
We’ve got the next result:
Create a new layer and choose the Soft Round brush mentioned above to represent more glowing effect in several places. The color is #FFED39 (brush Opacity – 50%)
Using the Ellipse Tool (U), let’s represent an ellipse of #D3AC34 color.
Set Fill to 52% for this layer and set the Blending mode to Color Dodge.
Make two copies of the layer containing the last made ellipse and use the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command to make smaller the copies, placing them as on the next picture.
Set Fill to 15% for this layer and set the Blending mode to Color Dodge.
Now we’ll draw a white ellipse, using the same Ellipse Tool (U).
Click on Add a layer style icon from bottom part of the Layers panel and select Outer Glow.
We’ve got the next result:
Make six copies of the last made layer and select the Free Transform (Ctrl+T) command to make smaller each next copy, placing them the same way demonstrated next picture.
Create a new layer and use on it the Soft Round brush to represent the glowing effect for the white ellipses’s group on the bottom part.
The color is white (brush Opacity – 10%). Place the layer under the layers containing the white circles.
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Linear Light.
Create a new layer and use the Soft Round brush mentioned in the previous example and choose the white color (brush Opacity – 10%) to paint the white ellipses.
Next we’ll create the next new layer, using here the same Soft Round brush of white color (brush Opacity – 40%) to paint several zones on the canvas.
We’ve got the next result:
Set the Blending mode for this layer to Overlay.
Click Create new fill or adjustment layer from bottom part of the Layers panel and click to Curves to adjust the curve shape as shown to make a little color corrections.
We’ve got the next result:
Click Create new fill or adjustment layer from bottom part of the Layers panel and click to Exposure to adjust tonality by performing calculations in a linear color space.
Set the next value for Exposure, Offset and Gamma.
