Adding a Capture to an Existing Project

Adding a Capture to an Existing Project

Now that the transition slide is completed, you can concentrate on creating the simulation. Before proceeding, make sure you have launched Dreamweaver and that you have the Sharing Files screen visible in the Basic Site Definition Wizard.

Instead of creating a new project, Captivate gives you the flexibility of adding new captures at any point in the project. Here’s how:

  1. With the SWF file open, click the Record button (it has a Captivate logo) on the main toolbar to open the Record Additional Slides dialog box.
  2. Select the option Record Slides and Insert After the Slide Selected Below.
  3. Click the thumbnail of the slide you just created (see Figure 19).

  4. Click OK to open the recording window.

Creating the Simulation

All you need to do here is capture the FTP selection in the Wizard. The rest can be added in Captivate:

  1. With the recording window open, click the Options button to open the Recording Options dialog box.
  2. Select Simulation from the Recording Mode pop-up menu (see Figure 20).

  3. Click OK to close the Recording Options dialog box.
  4. Click the Record button to begin recording.
  5. Select FTP from the Remote Server pop-up menu.
  6. Press the End key to stop recording. The record window closes and you return to Captivate. Your new slide appears in the Storyboard view, just after the blank slide you created.
