Adagio special effects
Today’s tutorial will be on the subject of logo design and reaching certain cool effects sing standard PS filters.
So let’s begin.
Crate new document. Note that the DPI definition is set to 300. If the logo will be printed the DPI size must be not less than 300 dpi.
Create new layer.
Use the ellipse tool and create a circle.
Path settings:
Now press Alt+Click on the layer and select the whole layer.
Maybe you don’t see it but on the picture the whole red circle is selected.
Create a new layer now!
The selected area is automatically on a new layer now.
Now overlay the selected are with gradient like so.
We will get something like this.
Layer order:
I’ve also used only one layer style effect on the original red circle layer.
Our result:
Now link these 2 layers together and merge them down. You will automatically rasterise them.
Make a copy on our merged layer.
Now I will experiment a little bit with filters.
From all the filters gamma I’ve chosen these ones as the most attractive ones.
For better flexibility I’ve copied our layer 3 times.
Zoom in.
Now it is time to choose which on them is the most attractive.
I think the lower left is the most beautiful.
So I’ve chosen our background, let’s paste some text there.
Choose proper font. Remember that the font is a also a part on the image. It should also have proper style.
Use a little trick using Custom Brushes.
As you can see you can make certain effects using mere brushes. Our concept is basically done here, but I want to take it further.
Use basic selection tool and make this king of selection.
Do layer via copy command.
Here we have it.
Use some layer styles and set layer mode to Liner dodge.
Here we have it. Erase a little bit.
A little bit more.
Just stroke the very first layer with gradient and we are done.

Enjoy and experiment with Photoshop.
