Create a new file, Record the audio and Save the file

Create a new file.
Choose File > New, select the Sample Rate, Channels, and Resolution, and click OK.
If you plan to burn the file to CD, select 44,100 samples per second, Stereo, and 16-bit.
Record the audio.
Click the Record button in the transport controls, and then press Play on the turntable or cassette deck, or speak into the microphone. When you finish recording, click Stop.
Edit and save the file.
Edit the file, and apply noise reduction effects if needed. Choose File > Save As to save the file.
If you plan to burn the file to CD, save it in Windows PCM (*.wav) format and deselect Save Extra Non-Audio Information.
