FrameMaker 7.1 (Mostly Windows, may also apply to Solaris)
FM7.1b023, released January 2004; see Adobe’s list of bug fixes implemented in FrameMaker 7.1
Note: See also issues present in previous releases of FrameMaker, as they may also apply to FrameMaker 7.1 (unless indicated otherwise)
- FrameMaker doesn’t create tagged PDF from a book (ATN 329244)
- “Save as PDF” with Tagged PDF turned on causes text to be missing from shaded table cells in the resulting PDF.
Workarounds: print to a .ps file and distill (recommended procedure regardless of this problem), or uncheck Generate Tagged PDF when Saving as PDF (unchecking Generate Tagged PDF is also recommended unless you have special considerations and take additional post-creation measures). - Getting external cross-references to work (FM-XML round-tripping, Structured FrameMaker 7.1) by Alistair Christie
- In FM 7.1, the Page Up and Page Down keys are assigned by default to the “Next Screen” and “Previous Screen” commands; in previous versions, the Page Up and Page Down keys were assigned to “Go to Next Page” and “Go to Previous Page” commands.
- Slow performance when importing or working with large SVG or PDF files (ATN 325748)
- “Internal Error …. FrameMaker has detected a serious error and must quit” (ATN 322739)
- Acrobat Distiller 6.0 doesn’t start, doesn’t let you edit job options, or returns the error “No valid…serial number…” (ATN 320682)
- Security warnings occur or no results are returned when you open or search Help (FM7.x on Windows XP with Service Pack 2) (ATN 330621)
- Acrobat Distiller 6.0 does not close after you save in PDF (ATN 330099)
- Preserving image scaling in FrameMaker 7.1
Fixed in version FM7.1p116 (released March 2005; downloadable update, 52.6MB):
- WMF files mis-scaled or squished in print or PDF (ATN 330345)
Text in WMF files may be distorted when printed or converted to PDF (font substituted, characters are expanded and overlapped). WMF is displayed properly in FrameMaker. Printing the same file using FM7.0 produces right results. - Error: “Internal Error 7104, 6062898…” when you save as PDF (ATN 324944)
